Aguardiente

Aguardiente is the name which means all drinks that come from the distillation of macerated fruit. They are strictly aguardientes most of the best known spirits such as whiskey or vodka, but because of their relevance and tradition usually have a separate classification.

Furthermore, as an exception, is also considered all aguardientes distilled from berries macerated in alcohol (not fermented), because getting the fermentation of red fruits is especially difficult.

There are many types of aguardiente that are produced in very specific areas, a traditional way, and have managed to make a worldwide name, the Galician marc brandy, Italian grappa or French Marc de Champagne are just some examples best known.
